Entering his first year at as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach he will oversee the training for Men’s and Women’s Golf, Women’s Swim, Cross Country and Row.
Prior to his arrival at SMU, Evans was the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for 3 years at Presbyterian College where he oversaw the training for 19 Division I sports.
Before his time at Presbyterian, he spent a year with University of Illinois overseeing the training for Men’s Gymnastics and Women’s Swimming while assisting with Baseball, Softball, Women’s Gymnastics and Women’s Diving.
Evans earned his master’s degree (2021) in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University and his bachelors (2019) in Exercise Science from UNC Charlotte.
He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) as well as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC). He is also a Functional Mobility Specialist (FRCms) and is certified through USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Coach (USAW-L1).
Evans, originally from Indian Trail, North Carolina, now resides in Dallas with his fiancé Ashley and their two dogs, Gypsy and Toby.
