SMU Athletics

Stilwell enters his second season with SMU volleyball as a graduate assistant. Stilwell joined the program ahead of the 2025 season. 

Born and raised in Stephenville, TX, Skylar graduated from Stephenville High School in 2020. He played volleyball for Club Texas as a Middle Blocker. During his playing career at Club Texas, his team reached the Boys Junior National Championships 3 years in a row, and placed 11th at the BJNC in 2018. After his playing career ended, he has continued to coach at Club Texas.

Stilwell attended Tarleton State University and earned his B.S. in Kinesiology in May, 2023. After graduation, he served as varsity assistant coach for Stephenville High School. During his two seasons with the Honeybees, he helped lead the team to an overall record of 57-22 while competing in the Region 1-4A finals during the 2023 season.

Over his two seasons, he helped guide athletes to achieve the Texas 4A Defensive Player of the Year, THSCA Super Elite Team, three All-State selections, and 8 athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
