Guard Chad Elsey to Leave School

Junior guard Chad Elsey indicated that he will not play this season and will leave the SMU men's basketball program, Mustang head coach Mike Dement announced.
"Chad Elsey indicated that he did not want to play anymore and wasn't sure at this time if he would play basketball further," said Dement. "However, he did say he would leave the University at the end of the fall semester. Chad has had two excellent seasons at SMU and will be missed. I wish Chad well in all his future endeavors."
A Flower Mound Marcus High School product, Elsey started 30 games as an SMU sophomore in 1998-99, averaging 13.4 points and 3.2 rebounds. He ranked sixth among SMU's career leaders in three-point field goals (95) and attempts (292).
