Mustangs Hold 45-Minute Scrimmage

Junior Willie Davis scored 43 points in SMU's 45-minute intrasquad scrimmage Monday night at Moody Coliseum. The SMU white team defeated the blue, 93-85.
Davis was 17-of-25 from the field and 7-for-8 from the foul line. Davis, who switched squads throughout the scrimmage, was the leading scorer for both teams (25 for white, 18 for blue).
Joining Davis as double-digit scorers were Jeryl Sasser (25), Anthony Anderson (18), Quinton Ross (16), Damon Hancock (14), Mike Niemi (11), Stephen Woods (11) and Copley Broer (10).
The SMU white team shot an impressive .522 from the floor, while the blue shot .463.
SMU head coach Mike Dement announced Monday that Tom Nabity, a walk-on guard for the Mustangs, will receive a scholarship for his final semester next spring.
