Sasser Earns WAC Player of the Week

SMU junior guard Jeryl Sasser earned Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for his efforts against Lamar and at Houston last week.
Sasser, from Dallas Kimball High School, recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in SMU's 67-56 win over Lamar. He then followed that up with 24 points, five assists and a career-high 18 rebounds in a 94-80 win at Houston.
For the week, he averaged 20.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 3.5 steals. He also shot 45.5 percent from the field on 15 of 33 shooting and was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.
This is the second time in Sasser' career he has earned the WAC Player of the Week award. He is also the second-consecutive Mustang to receive the award, following junior guard/forward Willie Davis last week.
