Dec 4 | Men's Basketball
Dallas, Texas -- SMU junior men's basketball player DeWayne Floyd issued the following statement regarding his two-game suspension for an incident with an official in the Mustangs' season-opener at Lamar on Nov. 25:
"I apologize to my teammates and my coaches, to Lamar University, and to SMU for my conduct following the SMU-Lamar basketball game. I believe all aspects of the incident were considered by SMU in recommending a two-game suspension and by the WAC in accepting the recommendation. I intend to put this incident behind me and focus my energies in the positive direction of helping my team accomplish its goals for this basketball season."
Floyd sat out SMU's last two games, at New Mexico State and versus Tulane. He will return to action tonight when the Mustangs host Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7:35 p.m. in Moody Coliseum.
