BATON ROUGE-The SMU Women's Golf team finished in 8th place at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic. With a score of 918, LSU took won the tournament. Southern Florida came in second shooting a 949. Rounding off third is Mississippi State with a three-day total of 955. SMU shot a 310-340-323=973.

LSU's Tina Howard shot a 77-75-73=225 to win the top individual placing. Marci Kornegay of Ole Miss, Meredith Duncan of LSU and Kelly Martin from So. Florida tied for second with a 231.

SMU's top shooter was Ashley Mitchell, shooting a 76-82-79=237 and finishing tied for 10th place. Mitchell had her best finish and was the top SMU finisher for the first time in her collegiate career. She also has the best finish of the team this year. Julie Crooks, tied for 31sth and shot an 80-84-80=244. Crooks had her best finish and her best three-day total. Kelle King shot a 245 and finished in a tie for 36th. Tied for 44th, Danielle Netschi (77-83-87) shot a 247.

The Lady Mustangs finish off their year with the WAC Tournament April 24-26.
