SMU Falls At TCU, 74-62

Ft. Worth, Texas (SMU) -- The SMU Mustangs dropped a tough 74-62 decision to host TCU on Tuesday, Dec. 18, as the Ponies closed out the non-conference schedule with a 5-5 mark.
SMU dominated play for the first 30 minutes before the Horned Frogs closed out the game with a 33-8 run to steal the win.
"I thought we went cold on the offensive end and let that effect our play defensively," said SMU Head Coach Mike Dement. "We just picked a bad time to stop hitting shots."
Quinton Ross was strong in the loss, scoring a team-high 19 behind 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc, while Damon Hancock returned after missing the last game with a virus to score 17 while dishing out five assists and pulling down six boards.
After a 10-day break for the holidays, SMU will return to the hardwood on Dec. 28, when they host the Boise State Broncos in their WAC opener at 7:35 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.
