SMU To Host Tennessee

DALLAS (SMU) -- In their final game prior to semester finals, the SMU Mustangs return home from a four-game road trip to battle the Tennessee Volunteers in Moody Coliseum on Thursday, Dec. 6.
SMU has won two of its last three games and boasts a 4-3 mark, while Tennessee arrives with a 3-2 mark, having dropped a pair of contests at the Great Alaska Shootout.
SMU and UT have met just once on the hardwood, with Tennessee holding a 1-0 series edge. The Ponies traveled north to Knoxville last season and dropped a tight 85-76 decision to host UT.
First-year UT coach Buzz Peterson was head coach at Tulsa last season, and the Ponies and Golden Hurricane split the season series 1-1.
SMU Assistant Coach Simon Cote is a graduate of Tennessee, and served as a student manager and graduate assistant at UT from 1994-97.
