Ponies Cruise In Final Exhibition

DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU Mustangs cruised past the EA Sports All-Stars, 100-79, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, to close out their exhibition season 2-0.
The All-Stars arrived on a two-game win streak after besting UTEP and Texas A&M and jumped out to a 16-8 edge at the 14:21 mark of the first half. SMU answered with a 39-18 run, however, and took a 47-34 lead at the break. The second half was much of the same and the win was never in doubt.
Six Mustangs finished in double-figures, led by preseason WAC Player of the Year Quinton Ross' 17. Freshman Bryan Hopkins added 14 and five assists, while Kris Lowe and Lavardicus Atkins added 11 a piece. Donatas Rackauskas and Justin Isham rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 each. Eric Castro hauled in 10 boards while Rackauskas added eight caroms.
SMU returns to the court Sunday, Nov. 24, when the Ponies host metroplex rival TCU in their season-opener at 5:05 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.
