The SMU rowing team completed day one of the Longhorn Invitational on Town Lake in Austin.

The Mustangs competed against Clemson in three different events. SMU's First Novice Eight recorded a time of 7:51.5, while Clemson edged the Ponies out with a time of 7:24.7. In the Second Varsity Eights, SMU finished behind Clemson's 7:19.0 mark with a time of 7:36.6. The First Varsity Eight recorded a time of 7:14.0, in the final run against Clemson.

SMU's Second Novice Four finished runner-up in head-to-head competition against Texas with a time of 9:28.6.

On Saturday's day two of competition, SMU will take on Kansas State beginning at 9:20 a.m., and will follow that up with a four events against Iowa at 4:40 p.m.
