HOUSTON (SMU) -- The SMU Mustangs kicked off their indoor track & field season with a bang on Saturday, Jan. 18, with the Mustangs picking up six event wins at the Leonard Hilton Memorial.

LaVada Hill claimed a win for the SMU women in the long jump, posting a mark of 6.02m. Zivile Pukstiene followed with a win in her SMU debut, taking honors in the triple jump with a 12.73m effort.

On the men's side, Lukas Musil won the 800m in 1:51.97 and Matt McKinney won the shot at 16.28m. Einar Hjartarsorn won the high jump in his SMU debut at 2.16m and the SMU distance medley relay emerged victorious in 9:57.35.

Up next for SMU is the Iowa State Invitational, Jan. 24-25.
