The SMU equestrian team totaled 17 points to finish fourth, one point ahead of LSU, at the Texas A&M IHSA Horse Show at N.W. ?Dick? Freeman Arena in College Station, Texas. SMU finished seventh on day one and jumped three spots to fourth in Sunday's show.
The Mustangs' Samantha Sheehan took fifth in the open fences to begin the day for SMU. Catherine McQuown followed by taking sixth in the open fences section II competition.
Ashley Lewis continued her impressive weekend, taking the runner-up second position in the novice flat. Cecilia Castillo took sixth in the open flat. Christine Isaacs followed with a third place finish in the novice flat section II.
Katie Robinson took a sixth place finish in the novice flat section III. Lowery Rogers followed by finishing fifth in the walk trot competition. Danielle Hartle finished the day in fine fashion, taking fifth in the advanced walk-trot-canter competition.
SMU returns to the arena Feb. 7-8 when they head back to Stillwater, Okla. for the Oklahoma State IHSA Show.
