DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs open the home portion of their 2003-04 slate with a visit from Bob Knight and the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
SMU is coming off a tough 68-65 loss at San Diego and should get sophomores Bryan and Ryan Hopkins back in the lineup. The brothers missed the USD game dealing with a family emergency.
Tech hopes to rebound from a disappointing loss to Georgia Tech in the Preseason NIT final while SMU will look to up its 34-13 record in home openers at Moody.
Former Southwest Conference foes SMU and TTU have met 102 times on the hardwood with the Red Raiders holding a 56-46 series edge. Texas Tech has won three straight in the series including a 78-75 barn-burner in Dallas in 2001. SMU?s last victory in the set came back in the 1997-98 campaign, a 89-82 Pony win in Dallas.
