Mustangs Battle Miami At Noon

DALLAS (SMU) - Coming off tough losses to a pair of teams from Tobacco Road, the SMU Mustangs (3-3) look to get back on track when they take on the Miami RedHawks (3-3) in opening round of the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
Just six games into the season, the Ponies have topped a pair of Big 12 teams, Texas Tech and Baylor, but have also suffered disappointing losses to San Diego and Appalachian State. A win on Saturday would help SMU gain momentum as it inches closer to Western Athletic Conference play.
Saturday?s game marks just the second meeting between the two schools and the first in almost 20 years. This will mark the second time the two teams will meet in a tournament setting, as a Jon Koncak-led Pony squad topped Miami, 83-69, in the opening round of the 1984 NCAA Tournament in Pullman, Washington.
Tipoff is set for noon Central. Josh Lewin will broadcast the game live over the Mustang Radio Network and its flagship, KSKY 660 AM. Coverage will start 10 minutes prior to tip-off. The game will be also be available on the Internet at smumustangs.com.
