Mustang Men Travel To Navy

DALLAS (SMU) - Coming off perhaps their biggest win in over a decade, the SMU Mustangs look to get an early start on their New Year?s celebration with a December 31st win over host Navy in Annapolis.
SMU has faced the Naval Academy five times over the last 54 seasons and holds a 3-2 series edge. Navy won the first two contests in the set, but the Ponies have claimed three straight over the Midshipmen including a 66-64 win in Annapolis during the 2000-01 season.
Wednesday?s battle is a return game of a home-and-home series between the schools started in the 2001-02 campaign, which began with an 81-64 SMU win in Dallas back on Nov. 18, 2001.
On a related note, SMU received votes in the Associated Press poll for the second straight week. SMU has now been received votes in the AP poll in five of the last seven years.
Tipoff for Wednesday's game is 12 noon.
