SMU Finishes 24th At NCAA Championship In New York

The SMU men's swimming & diving team finished 24th at the 2004 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championship held at the Goodwill Games Aquatics Complex in New York City. SMU totaled 22 points over the three day event. Auburn won the national title with 634 total points.
The Mustangs gained All-American honors in three events for the week. On Saturday, SMU's 400 free relay team of Camilo Becerra, Eric Hadley, Per Nylin and Justin Stephenson qualified for the final heat on Saturday night but were disqualified during the event. SMU's 24th place finish bettered the team's 25th showing a year ago at the Big Dance.
