Reay Invited To National Team Try-Outs

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU sophomore-to-be Christopher Reay is one of 25 players invited to tryouts for the New Zealand National Team, Head Coach Tab Baldwin recently announced.
The ?Tall Blacks,? as the squad is known, is preparing for several upcoming international events including the Olympics and the Oceana Games. The camp begins in Whangarei north of Auckland on July 1 and will be whittled from 25 to 15 for a three-game series against Australia from July 9-11.
Reay is eligible for the squad because his father was born in New Zealand. The 6-9 forward also lived in New Zealand from 1992 to 1996.
The 25-man camp will be comprised of guards Lance Baker (Nelson Giants), Willie Banks (Taranaki Mountain Airs), Dan Barritt (Auckland Stars), Nat Connell (Canterbury Rams), Mark Dickel (Fenerbahce, Turkey), Paul Henare (Hawks), Phill Jones (Nelson Giants), Troy McLean (Saints), Aaron Olson (Auckland Stars), Lindsay Tait (Auckland Stars) and Paora Winitana (Hawks) and forwards Link Abrams (Taranaki Mountain Airs), Ed Book (Nelson Giants), Craig Bradshaw (Winthrop University, USA), Dillon Boucher (Auckland Stars), Pero Cameron (Waikato Titans), Ben Hill (Waikato Titans), Ollie Hill (Nelson Giants), Mike Homik (Auckland Stars), Miles Pearce (Manawatu Jets), Brendon Polyblank (Saints), Tony Rampton (Cairns Taipans, Australia), Michael Tompson (Taranaki Mountain Airs) and Mika Vukona (Nelson Giants).
