LAS VEGAS (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team stands in 14th place after Monday's opening round of the fourth-annual Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown, which is being played at Anthem Country Club. SMU is 19-over as a team, 28 strokes behind leader UCLA.

Laura Cross again leads SMU, sitting tied for 10th at 1-under 71. Jennifer Ackerson is at 3-over 75 and is tied for 38th, while Lacey Jones is tied for 53rd at 5-over 77. Freshman Kate Ackerson's 12-over 84 ties her for 78th. Kristina Rothengatter, usually a steady force for the Mustangs, missed the round and will miss the rest of the tournament due to an undisclosed injury.

Tuesday's second round is slated to start at 10 a.m. CST with players teeing off on both the first and 10th holes on the par-72, 6,168-yard course.
