LAS VEGAS, Nev. (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team posted the low round of the tournament on Tuesday at the Las Vegas Founders Collegiate Showdown at Anthem Country Club, firing a blistering 285 as a team, 22 shots better than its round one effort. SMU jumped from 14th to seventh with the low tally.

Laura Cross is tied for ninth at 1-under 71-72-143. Jennifer Ackerson is at 2-over 75-71-146 and is tied for 16th, while Lacey Jones is tied for 27th at 4-over 77-71-148. Freshman Kate Ackerson played the best round of her young career on day two, shooting a 1-under 71 after carding an 84 on the first day. She is tied for 60th. Kristina Rothengatter, usually a steady force for the Mustangs, is missing the rest of the tournament due to an undisclosed injury.

Wednesday's final round is slated to start at 10 a.m. CST with players teeing off on both the first and 10th holes on the par-72, 6,168-yard course.
