DALLAS (SMU) - Six Mustang crews finished in the top 10 in their respective events this past weekend at the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, Tenn. SMU highlights included 3rd and 5th place finishes in the open eight event; 8th place in the championship eight; 5th in the championship four; 4th in the novice eight; and 7th in the novice four event.
"It was a good weekend for the Mustangs," said Coach Doug Wright. "Naturally we'd like to see more of our crews finishing in the top five, if we work hard throughout the winter I'm confident we can improve upon these results in the springtime."
The Head of the Hooch was the final fall regatta for the Mustangs. The squad begins winter training this week and will resume competition next March.
