COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - The SMU equestrian team earned an impressive third-place finish in the second of two English shows held this weekend at N.W. `Dick' Freeman Arena. SMU came up just one point short of co-winners and national powers Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.

The Mustangs rebounded from a fifth-place finish on Friday to post the solid showing. Haley Hyland scored honors for the Ponies, taking High-Point Rider honors on the heels of wins in the Open Fences and Open Flat.

Catherine Comer, Kelsey Higginbotham, Lauren O'Neil and Antonia Stubbe all claimed second-place honors in various events for the Mustangs.

SMU returns to competition on Saturday, Nov. 19, in Waco.
