COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU)- The SMU equestrian team earned a fifth-place finish in the first of two weekend shows at N.W. `Dick' Freeman Arena on Saturday. SMU tallied 27 points to finish 10 points back of co-winners Baylor and Oklahoma State.

Molly Miller and Haley Hyland had strong showings for the Ponies, taking seconds in the Open Flat and thirds in Open Fences in their respective sections.

Competition continues Sunday.
