Men's Swimming Signs New Recruit

DALLAS (SMU) - Maverick Smalley (Austin, Texas) has signed a national letter-of-intent to attend SMU and will begin training with the men's swimming team in fall 2006, as announced by SMU head coach Eddie Sinnott. Smalley, an IM and middle distance freestyler, has been an Olympic national qualifier, a national junior team member, a senior national qualifier and a high school All-American.
During his young career, he has set 20 national age group records and currently holds five national age group records.
"Maverick is one of the premier recruits in this year's class," said head coach Eddie Sinnott. "He is the beginning to what should be a top level recruiting class. After bringing in one of the best classes in 2005, he should help us continue our charge back to being one of the top swimming and diving programs in the nation."
