DALLAS (AP) - Bryan Hopkins scored 19 points and Donatas Rackauskas had 12 to lead SMU past Savannah State 89-46 on Monday night.
Hopkins, SMU's leading scorer last season, also had seven rebounds in his season debut. The senior had missed the first seven games for the Mustangs (5-3) because he was academically ineligible.
The Mustangs shot a school-record 69 percent from the floor and had five players in double figures. Dez Willingham, Brian Morris and Brian Epps each scored 11 points.
Javon Randolph scored 14 points and Joseph Flegler had 13 for Savannah State (1-11), which had just 16 total rebounds.
Hopkins was 7-of-9 from the floor and made four 3-pointers. He also had three assists and two steals.
