Volleyball Sweeps North Texas 3-0

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Volleyball team (2-1) defeated the North Texas Mean Green 3-0 (30-18, 30-26, 30-28) on Wednesday at Moody Coliseum to kick off a busy weekend of SMU athletics on the Hilltop. Senior MB Kelly Larkan led the Mustangs with 11 kills while hitting .312 to go along with seven digs. Sophomore setter Madison Hill had a double-double with 36 assists and 12 digs in her second start for SMU.

Senior Jennette Evanco recorded 21 digs, which was the fifth best total in school history for a three game match, while sophomore Rachel Giubilato contributed 15 digs, seven kills, four aces, and three blocks. Caitlin Rainbird was the fourth Mustang in double figures with 13 digs. Freshman Natalie Peters also helped in the Mustang sweep with nine kills and five blocks.

The Ponies return to the court this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2-3, for the SMU Radisson Invitational. SMU will host Stony Brook, Oral Roberts and Texas Tech in matches beginning at 11 a.m.
