DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Volleyball team (3-1) hit .296 for the match in a 3-0 (30-22, 30-21, 30-24) win over Stony Brook on Friday afternoon at Moody Coliseum in match two of the SMU Invitational. Sophomore outside hitter Caitlin Rainbird led a trio of Mustangs that finished with double digit kills when she hit.333 on 13 kills, while contributing eight digs and two service aces. Rachel Giubilato also was strong for SMU posting a double-double with 11 kills and 17 digs, to go along with three aces. Kelly Larkan finished with 10 kills and 12 digs for her 13th career double-double.
Freshman middle blocker Natalie Peters tallied eight kills and four blocks and Ashley Zener also had eight kills while hitting .429 for the Mustangs. Junior Jennette Evanco's 22 digs tied for second most all-time in a three-game match, while Madison Hill just missed a double-double with 44 assists and seven digs.
The Mustangs return to the court Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. when they host Oral Roberts to conclude Friday's action of the SMU Invitational. The match will have live stats available via GameTracker and streaming video through SMUMustangs.com.
