EAST LANSING, Mich. (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team trails host Michigan State by just one shot and stands in second place the Mary Fossum Invitational after two rounds of competition at the Forest Akers West Golf Course. As a team, SMU carded rounds of 294 and 301 to stand at +19 (595).

Individually, SMU has three golfers in the top six - Lacey Jones (73-74-147-+3), Kristina Rothengatter (73-74-147-+3) and Jennifer Ackerson (73-75-148-+4). Jones and Rothengatter are tied for second and Ackerson is tied in sixth. Laura Cross had a tough second round at 75-78-153-+9 and is tied for 28th. Ashley Deatherage rounds out the SMU group at 77-78-155-+11-T35th.
