DALLAS (SMU) - The No. 20 SMU men's swimming and diving team is headed to Centenary College for their first head-to-head meet of the season. The match-up is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start at Shreveport, Louisiana.
After an intense intersquad battle earlier this week, the Mustangs will take on Centenary College who is coming in after losing two matches to start their season.
The 2006-07 men's swimming and diving team returns 19 letterwinners, including three All-Americans from last year's squad. The team produced a 19th-place finish at NCAA and broke nine records en route to the Conference USA Invitational crown.
"We are excited about this year's team," Sinnott said. "We are coming off a top-20 finish last year and our goal is to try and improve on that."
Returning All-Americans include senior and captain, Ian Clark, junior Alex Hetland and sophomore Luka Vrtovec. Josh Cohen, Matthew Hock and Justin Smith join Clark in leading as the senior class. Their experience and leadership will be beneficial to the five added to the mix. The Mustangs look to continue their slew of titles and hope to return to the top 15 for the 11th time under 18-year head coach Sinnott.
