No. 20 Mustangs Prepare For No. 24 BYU

DALLAS (SMU) - The No. 20 SMU men's swimming and diving team prepares to host No. 24 BYU in a dual meet this Friday at 6:00 p.m. The meet will be held at Perkins Natatorium on the campus of SMU.
The Mustangs have got jumped off the blocks fast this season as they downed Centenary College last weekend, 134-122, winning 11 of the 14 events. SMU is led by captain and senior, Ian Clark. Clark, along with junior Alex Hetland and sophomore Luka Vrtovec are the three returning All-Americans for the Mustangs this season.
SMU returns 19 letterwinners from last year's squad which notched a 19th-place finish at NCAA and broke nine records en route to the Conference USA Invitational crown. With the combination of veterans and newcomers, SMU is proving to be a top 10 contender.
This will be the first dual meet of the season for BYU. The BYU men's team features All-American Brett Allen who swam at the NCAA Championships last season. This year's team also features Mountain West Conference Champion Travis Price and All-MWC swimmers Jorge Azevedo and Jeffrey Su. A number of new swimmers have joined the team this year after returning from missions, transferring from other schools or coming in as freshmen.
