DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU rowing team had a very good showing in the season opener against Creighton. The Mustangs posted five of seven wins in the race.

The Varsity 8 crew rowed past Creighton for a time of 6.33 but the Creighton Novice 8 came back for a win to even the races at one a piece. SMU went on to win all but one of the remaining races as the Varsity 4 and Varsity 4 B crews both posted wins. The Novice 4 had three teams, two from Creighton and one from SMU. The Mustangs were not able to get ahead as the fell into third place. The Varsity 4 C grabbed another win while the Second Varsity 8 used a burst of speed to propel forward for a win over Creighton by one second.

The Mustangs will glide through the waters again as they host Kansas Thurs., March 23 at White Rock Lake in Dallas.
