AUSTIN (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team stands in fourth place following the first round of the 33rd-annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club. As a team, SMU shot a 17-over 305 and trails leader Texas A&M (+10) by seven strokes.

Laura Cross and Kristina Rothengatter are leading the way for the Mustangs, as each shot 3-over 75 to tie for 12th. Jennifer Ackerson is one shot back of her teammates at 4-over 76 and is tied for 16th. Lacey Jones (7-over 79) and Kate Ackerson (10-over 82) are tied for 36th and 63rd, respectively.
