ANN ARBOR, Mich. (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team is tied for first place following the opening round of the 2006 Wolverine Invitational at the U-M Golf Course. SMU is tied atop the 10-team leaderboard with Ohio State and host Michigan at 305 at the par-71 and 6,098-yard course.

Leading the way for SMU is senior Jennifer Ackerson, who is at 2-over 73 following the opening 18. Lacey Jones is next up at 4-over 75, followed by Kate Ackerson at 6-over 77. Sarah Dodson also scored for SMU, posting an 80. Kristina Rothengatter shot 89 to round out the SMU team, while Ashley Deatherage carded an 83 playing as an individual.

The second round of the Invitational was delayed until Sunday morning due to inclement weather. Players will complete the second round beginning at 9 a.m., which will then be followed by the start of the third round.
