MANSFIELD, Texas. (SMU) --- The SMU equestrian defeated Metroplex rival TCU 6-5 at Fieldstone Park on Saturday. The Mustangs won 4-2 in fences after trailing 4-2 at the conclusion of the flat judging. The Ponies finish with a 6-5 edge due to a pre-match infraction by TCU.
Amanda Vining and Renee DeLisse each had wins for the Mustangs in equitation on the flat. Kristen Collins had the high score in that portion at 78.75, but fell when Kindel Huffman tallied 84 for TCU.
In equitation over fences, four Mustangs scored victories including Kate Wilson's meet-MVP performance of 84 points. Lauren Lieberman, Kathryn Garvie, and Collins also scored wins for SMU.
SMU Equestrian returns to action when it hosts Stephen F. Austin at the Park Lane Equestrian Center on Jan. 26.
