DALLAS (AP) -- Alabama State's Joel Bosh scored 16 points and had eight rebounds to lead his team to a 64-54 victory over SMU on Sunday in the SMU Tip Off Classic. Bamba Fall led the Mustangs with 15 points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots. Jon Killen had 11 points, fives assists, and four steals. Alex Malone made the All-Tournament team for SMU after combining for 29 points and 10 rebounds this weekend.
Bosh shot 5-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. Brandon Gordon and Andrew Hayles each scored 10 for the Hornets (2-0).
Bamba Fall led SMU with 15 points on 5-9 shooting while hitting 5-6 free throws. Jon Killen added 11 points and had five assists while hitting 4-6 field goals. Killen went 8-15 from three-point range in two games.Alex Malone scored 10.
Papa Dia had eight points, four steals, and three blocks in his second game as a Mustang. The Mustangs totaled 13 steals as a team to go with nine blocks.
SMU (0-2) scored only two points in just over eight minutes of the first half and trailed 32-19 at the half. The Mustangs cut the lead to 34-30 with 15:30 left in the second half but could get no closer.
Alabama State shot 38 percent from the field and SMU shot 37 percent.
The Mustangs return to the court when Centenary visits Moody Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
