DALLAS (SMU) - Major Leaguer Curtis Granderson will speak to SMU student-athletes on Monday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. in the Hughes Trigg Center on the SMU campus.
Granderson will talk about the importance of education and earning a degree, goal-setting, teamwork, nutrition, stress management, the dangers of drugs, steroids and alcohol and the importance of giving back to the community.
Earlier this year, Granderson became only the second big leaguer with at least 30 doubles, 20 triples, 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a single season.
"We're excited about having Curtis come and speak to our student-athletes," said SMU Associate A.D. for Compliance Jeff Konya. "He will speak with them on a number of different topics that affect them as student-athletes, and as a young, professional athlete, he can relate well to them. We think it will be a valuable presentation."
