MANSFIELD, Texas (SMU) - Behind standout performances from freshmen Kristen Collins and Maia VanDyke, SMU rode to 10-2 victory over TCU on Friday at Fieldstone Park.
The Mustangs turned in consistently-solid runs in a very successful outing against TCU. VanDyke earned the highest score of the day, turning in an 86 on her flat pattern, followed closely by teammate Kristen Collins with an 84. Collins emerged yet again as the high-point rider by adding her 80 point ride over fences.
"We really came together as a team for this show. These athletes overcame some significant hurdles to achieve this goal today, and they deserve this win. We also want to thank our very gracious hosts and neighbors, TCU, for their hospitality and willingness to assist us. They are great competitors."
