AUSTIN (SMU) - Today was the first day of the NCAA Zone "D" Championships that is being held in Austin on the University of Texas campus. The men's diving competition consisted of the one-meter diving event and the women will compete in the three-meter diving event later this afternoon.
The SMU men's team lone diver, Preston Holcombe placed fifth in the finals with a score of 556.05. He also placed fifth in prelims with a score of 269.65 which rolled over to his final score.
Competition continues tomorrow with the women's one-meter followed by the men's three-meter.
