FRESNO, Calif. (SMU) --- The SMU Equestrian team finished third in the English riding portion of the Best of the West Tournament at the Fresno State Student Horse Center on Sunday. The Mustangs had 21 points, finishing behind Tennessee-Martin (36) and the host, Fresno State (28) while outscoring South Dakota State (15), Delaware State (10) and TCU (6).
The Mustangs defeated South Dakota State 5-1 head-to-head for third place. The Mustangs had finished second in the three-team bracket that started the tournament while South Dakota State finished second in their first-round bracket.
