Ann Arbor, Mich. (SMU) - The SMU women's golf team carded a 303 in round one of the NCAA Central Regional at the UM Golf Course to stand in 12th place. The top eight teams from each of the three Regional sites advance to the championships finals to be held at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla., May 22-25. At 303, SMU is just eight strokes out of eighth place.

Jennifer Ackerson leads SMU in 26th at 3-over 74. Kate Ackerson is next up at 4-over 75 in 33rd. Sarah Dodson put together a solid 76 good for 44th, while Ashley Deatherage rounded out the SMU scorers on day one in 77th at 7-over 78. Kristina Rothengatter will look to bounce back on Friday after Thursday's 9-over 80 left her in 82nd.

USC leads the team event at 283, while Jacqui Concolino of Vanderbilt shot 4-under 67 to lead as an individual.
