SMU VS. TULSA - January 19, 2008 POSTGAME QUOTES
Matt Doherty, SMU Head Coach "Congratulations to Tulsa. We are frustrated that we didn't win. They've had two games that have gone the other way, one into triple overtime and the other in overtime. They're a good team and they made shots, and I was really proud of our team for they way they competed. I've said this before, that we can't let the wins and losses determine how we feel about our effort. I thought we played really good defense in spite of the fact they shot 56%. And if you are a fan of college basketball then you enjoyed the game."
(on Jon Killen) "He's unbelievable. I'm going to miss that kid. He is what a student-athlete at SMU is all about. He doesn't quit - he scored 17 in the second half. He hit huge shots, he had huge defensive plays. I'm proud and fortunate to be his coach."
Jon Killen, SMU Senior (on his 17 second-half points) "Well I know I got a lot of those buckets in transition and that was one of things that coach focused on when we came back from half time was really pushing the ball and making them work. I was fortunate enough to get in the lane and made it work."
Doug Wojcik, Tulsa Head Coach "What a fine line it is, Brett McDade made a great play at the end. Give them credit that they made their free throws. And I'll give SMU a lot of credit; they may have played the game of the year for them. And that's the third team now that has shot over 50% against us in the second half. They hurt us inside in the first half and they hurt us outside in the second half."
