EL PASO, Texas - SMU senior Lacey Jones carded an opening-round 74 and is two shots out of the lead after day one of the 2008 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship at the par 72, 6,294-yard Butterfield Trail Golf Club. At 2-over par, Jones is tied for sixth.

Sarah Dodson, Tia Gannon and Paige Martin all shot 6-over 78 and are tied for 26th, while Laura Cross' 80 places her 35th. As a team, SMU's 308 has the Mustangs in seventh place, but only seven shots out of first.

The winner of the C-USA Championship receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.

Second round action begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with the final round teeing off at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Live scoring is available here.
