HOUSTON (SMU) - The SMU women's tennis team posted a come-from-behind 4-2 win over Southern Miss in quarterfinal action at the 2008 Conference USA Championships on Friday, April 18. With the win, SMU advances to take on top-seeded Tulsa on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

SMU got off to a quick start by sweeping the double point, but fell behind, 2-1, after dropping singles matches at Nos. 5 and 6. Pavi Francis got the Mustangs back on the winning track with a 6-0, 6-3 beating of USM's Ali Blackett. Nicole Briceno then gave SMU the lead with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Brittany Serret before Natalia Bubien clinched the win for the `Stangs by topping Sherry Price, 6-2, 6-4.
