TULSA, Okla. (SMU) - Junior guard Brittany Gilliam scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season, and the Mustangs went on a 15-0 run at the start of the second half to rally past Tulsa, 65-53, at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa, Okla., Sunday afternoon.
The victory gives the Mustangs (10-7 overall, 3-1 in Conference USA games) a sweep of two regular-season matchups against the Golden Hurricane (5-11, 1-3), and improves SMU to 20-10 all-time against Tulsa.
The win also keeps alive the Mustangs' streak of reaching double digits in victories in every one of Rhonda Rompola's 18 seasons as SMU's head coach.
Gilliam was one of four Mustangs to score in double digits: junior post Alice Severin added a season-high 13 points (and seven rebounds), while sophomore guard LaShandra Hill and freshman post Christine Elliott scored 10 points apiece for the Ponies.
The Mustangs now head to New Orleans for a 7 p.m. game Thursday night at Tulane in a game that can be heard live on KAAM (770 AM).
