DALLAS (SMU) - Junior forward Delisha Wills scored 14 points to lead three Mustangs in double figures, but it was not enough as SMU was edged, 70-63, by Marshall at Moody Coliseum Thursday night.
Guard LaShandra Hill had 13 points and post Alice Severin added 10 for the Mustangs, who slipped to 8-7 on the season (1-1 in C-USA games) after a four-game winning streak came to an end. Marshall improved to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in C-USA games.
While each team had three players in double figures, the game was decided on the glass, as the Thundering Herd outrebounded SMU, 51-33.
The Mustangs now host East Carolina at 2 p.m. Saturday in a game that can be heard live on KAAM (770 AM) and can be seen on a tape-delay basis on Time Warner Cable in Dallas on Metro Sports (channel 185). The broadcast of the game is tentatively scheduled to be shown at 5 p.m.
