OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (SMU) - The Mustangs finished fifth in the women's collegiate 8+ at the Boot of the Oklahoma on the Oklahoma River Saturday.
SMU was just over 11 seconds from the podium in the event, covering the course in 14:47.476. Texas took the top two spots, posting a winning time of 14:04.034, and a second place time of 14:29.998.
Tulsa took the final spot on the podium with a 14:36.022, and Kansas rounded out the top-five, finishing fourth with a 14:47.228. SMU's second boat finished 14th with a 15:32.596.
In the women's collegiate 4+, the Mustangs were again just seconds away from the podium, but finished eighth with a 16:59.368. Texas blew the field out of the water, beating second place Tulsa by just over 44 seconds, completing the course in a blazing 15:58.008.
Tulsa finished in 16:42.406, with Texas also taking third with a 16:46.456. SMU also finished 13th with a 17:19.174.
In the doubles competition, SMU posted an 11th place 18:48.096 and a 15th place 20:32.718.
