TEAM

SMU will take a twelve-day break from game action to pause for finals week. After finals, the Mustangs will embark on a four game swing away from Moody Coliseum that will see them take part in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.

The Mustangs scored 52 points in the first half, their largest first-period output since they scored 55 points against Louisiana-Monroe on November. 11, 2006, a 99-66 win for the Mustangs.

SMU scored 90 points in a game for the first time since they scored 92 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on 12/31/2008, a 92-62 win for the Mustangs. This is the most points scored by SMU since 3/1/2008, when they defeated UTEP 99-96 in double-overtime

This is the second time this season that SMU has had three or more players score 15+ points (also 11/21 vs. Florida Gulf Coast). Mohammed Faye, Robert Nyakundi, and Derek Williams each scored 15+ points.

Set a season-high with 28 free throws made (34FTA, 82.4 FT%)

SMU started the game on a 5-0 run, marking the fifth time in six games this season that SMU has started the game on a 5-0 run or better.

INDIVIDUAL

Mouhammad Faye
-Scored 15 points, his third 15+ point effort this season and the eighth of his career.
-This is his fifth double-digit scoring effort in six games this season, and the 17th of his career
-Registered 3 blocks for the second-straight game, which matches his career-high
-Made a career high 6free throws, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the line
-Grabbed 8 rebounds, his seventh career 8+ rebound effort

Robert Nyakundi
-Set a career high with 19 points, besting his previous high of 18 points at Texas A&M on 12/17/2008.
-Saw his most significant action of the season so far with 20 minutes played, after being hampered by injury through the first five games of the season
-This is the 9th time in his career he has reached double-figures in scoring, and the first time this season. This is the second career 15+ point scoring effort.
-Scored 17 points in the first half, (6-7 FG, 4-5 3FG)
-Scored nine straight SMU points as a part of a larger 12-1 run that increased SMU's lead from 7 to 18 during the first half

Mike Walker
-Posted his first double-digit scoring game of the season and the 10th of his career, with 12 points.
-Passed Justin Isham and Devon Pearson (68 3FGM each) to move into 16th on the SMU career 3FGM list with 70 career 3FGM

Derek Williams
-Scored a season-high 21 points, his second career 20+ point game (also 32 pts at Houston 3/7/2009)
-This is his third straight game of 15+ points and his fourth 15+ point effort on the season. He now has 13 of his career 15+ point games and 25 career double-figure scoring games.
-Made a career-high 11 free throws off of a career-high 12 attempts (91.7 FT%)
