DALLAS (SMU) --- The SMU volleyball team swept the Memphis Tigers, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs advance to 13-4 on the season and 5-1 in Conference USA play.
Sophomore Courtney Manning set a career high with a .632 attack percentage, converting on 13 of 19 swings to lead the Mustangs to victory. Manning also led the team with nine blocks.
As a team, the Mustangs registered a .340 team hitting percentage, the second best total this season. SMU converted on 40-59 side-outs (67%).
SMU won today's match in three sets and move on to 5-1 this season in three-set matches.
In addition to the match, the Mustangs hosted this year's "Dig Pink" event to raise money for breast cancer research. The SMU volleyball team collected over $1,100 to be donated to the Side-Out Foundation, a non-profit organization that unites volleyball with fundraising efforts for those affected by breast cancer.
The Mustangs return to the court tomorrow for the second match of the weekend with Memphis at 2 p.m.
