COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - The SMU men's swim team was defeated by Texas A&M 136-98 in a dual meet Saturday.

"As always, this meet had a lot of close races," Head Coach Eddie Sinnott said. "Unfortunately, Texas A&M won more of them today. Now we are looking forward to a month of good training."

The highlight of the meet was Mustang All-American Tom Cole making his return to the pool following off-season surgery. The senior captain picked up his first win of the season in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in with a time of 2:01.18 and besting the field by more than seven seconds. Cole also swam the second leg of the 400-yard medley relay team that earned runner-up honors (3:21.24)

Sophomore Mindaugas Sadauskas turned in another strong performance for SMU, winning the 50-yard freestyle (20.53) and taking second in the 100-yard freestyle (44.61). Sadauskas also anchored the 400-yard freestyle relay squad en route to a first place finish (3:01.09).

SMU hosts Georgia in a dual meet Jan. 8 at Perkins Natatorium at 6 p.m.
