Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team stands atop the team leaderboard after day one and two rounds of the Callaway Invitational being played at the par-72, 6,947-yard Farms Golf Club. Sitting third after an opening-round 293, SMU blistered the course in round two with a 282 to take a six-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round.
SMU's Matt Schovee is the clubhouse leader at 6-under 138 (71-67) and holds a slim lead over Fresno State's Bhavik Pael (139) and San Diego State's Tom Berry (140). Mustang James Kwon is also in the top 10 at 71-73-144 and Kelly Kraft is not far back, in 14th at 74-72-146. Max Buckley (82-70-152-T35th) and Ben Tewes (77-79-156-T51st) round out the SMU team, while SMU's Marc Sambol (78-75-153-T39th) is tied for 39th, playing unattached.
